In an evening suffused with literary gravitas and intellectual splendour, the International Academy of Ethics hosted the ceremonious release of A Poetic Odyssey: A Biography of Dr Jernail Singh Anand by Rupa Rao at the Bahai House, Sector 8. The august gathering was chaired by the distinguished poet-philosopher Dr Jernail Singh Anand, President of the Academy, whose towering literary presence lent rare luminosity to the occasion.
Moderating the event with eloquence and insight, Dr Manju Chouhan extolled the biography as a fitting and masterful tribute to Dr Anand — a Nobel Nominee whose prolific genius has gifted the world over 200 books, including 18 epics of enduring literary resonance. She reflected upon the magnitude of his intellectual voyage, describing him as a literary voyager whose pen bridges civilizations and centuries.
Dr Anand’s global acclaim was celebrated with reverence. A Laureate of the prestigious Charter of Morava, Seneca Award, Franz Kafka Award, and Maxim Gorky Award, his name stands immortalised upon the Poets’ Rock in Serbia — a rare international distinction. He has also been conferred Honorary Membership of the Association of Serbian Writers, an honour once held by the venerable Rabindranath Tagore — thus inscribing his legacy alongside the great luminaries of world literature.
The evening further witnessed the unveiling of two notable works: Journeys Within and Beyond by Ashok Bhargava and My Poems Have Bolted and Other Poems by Ravindra Tandon, reflecting the Academy’s unwavering commitment to nurturing diverse literary voices.
In a moment marked by dignity and appreciation, Dr Anand conferred the Roll of Honour upon Shri Ashok Bhargava and Dr Sunil Bhatia, Editor of Salahiyat, in recognition of their significant contributions to literature and culture. The Academy also bestowed the honour of Kindred Spirits upon Shri Ravinder Tandon (Author), Prof Anil Sarwal (Guest of Honour), Shri Vinod Khanna (Chief Guest), and Dr Manju Chouhan (Moderator), acknowledging their shared dedication to the creative and ethical enrichment of society.
The gathering stood not merely as a book release, but as a resounding affirmation of literature’s sovereign power — to illuminate minds, ennoble hearts, and weave humanity into a shared tapestry of thought and transcendence.

ਕਾਰਜਕ੍ਰਮ ਦਾ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਡਾ. ਮੰਜੂ ਚੌਹਾਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਜੀਵਨੀ ਡਾ. ਆਨੰਦ ਲਈ ਇਕ ਯੋਗ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਵਪੂਰਨ ਸ੍ਰਧਾਂਜਲੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦਰਸਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਨੋਬਲ ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦ ਡਾ. ਆਨੰਦ ਨੇ 200 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਰਚ ਕੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਨੂੰ ਸਮ੍ਰਿੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 18 ਮਹਾਕਾਵਿ ਸਥਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਤਕ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਰਚਨਾਤਮਕ ਯਾਤਰੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਲਮ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਯੁਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋੜਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਡਾ. ਆਨੰਦ ਦੀ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧੀ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਚਾਰਟਰ ਆਫ ਮੋਰਾਵਾ, ਸੇਨੇਕਾ ਅਵਾਰਡ, ਫਰਾਂਜ਼ ਕਾਫਕਾ ਅਵਾਰਡ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਕਸਿਮ ਗੋਰਕੀ ਅਵਾਰਡ ਨਾਲ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ। ਸਰਬੀਆ ਦੇ ‘Poets’ Rock’ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਰਜ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਇਕ ਵਿਲੱਖਣ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਮਾਨ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਐਸੋਸੀਏਸ਼ਨ ਆਫ ਸਰਬੀਆਨ ਰਾਈਟਰਜ਼ ਦੀ ਮਾਨਦ ਮੈਂਬਰਸ਼ਿਪ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ — ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਮਾਨ ਮਹਾਨ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਕਵੀ ਰਵੀੰਦਰਨਾਥ ਟੈਗੋਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਸੀ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਅਸ਼ੋਕ ਭਾਰਗਵ ਦੀ ਜਰਨੀਜ਼ ਵਿਥਿਨ ਐਂਡ ਬਿਯਾਂਡ ਅਤੇ ਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਟੰਡਨ ਦੀ ਕਾਵਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਮਾਈ ਪੋਇਮਜ਼ ਹੈਵ ਬੋਲਟਡ ਐਂਡ ਅਦਰ ਪੋਇਮਜ਼ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਲੋਕਾਰਪਣ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਹ ਅਕੈਡਮੀ ਦੀ ਸਾਹਿਤਕ ਵਿਭਿੰਨਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੋਤਸਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਵਚਨਬੱਧਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਡਾ. ਆਨੰਦ ਨੇ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਸਕ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਲਈ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਅਸ਼ੋਕ ਭਾਰਗਵ ਅਤੇ ‘ਸਲਾਹਿਯਤ’ ਦੇ ਸੰਪਾਦਕ ਡਾ. ਸੁਨੀਲ ਭਾਟੀਆ ਨੂੰ ‘ਰੋਲ ਆਫ ਆਨਰ’ ਨਾਲ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਟੰਡਨ (ਲੇਖਕ), ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਅਨਿਲ ਸਰਵਾਲ (ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਅਤਿਥੀ), ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਵਿਨੋਦ ਖੰਨਾ (ਮੁੱਖ ਅਤਿਥੀ) ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਮੰਜੂ ਚੌਹਾਨ (ਸੰਚਾਲਕ) ਨੂੰ ‘ਕਿੰਡ੍ਰਡ ਸਪਿਰਿਟਸ’ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਇਹ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇਕ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਲੋਕਾਰਪਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ, ਸਗੋਂ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਦੀ ਉਸ ਅਟੱਲ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਉਤਸਵ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਤ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਮਨੁੱਖਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਚੇਤਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜਦੀ ਹੈ।
